Gary Slack, P.E., C.C.E.

Gary Slack, P.E., C.C.E., has had over twenty years of experience in the healthcare field in the areas of Plant, Technology, Safety; clinical engineering and management; and related teaching and research.

He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical and biomedical engineering from the Ohio State University and is a Certified Clinical Engineer, Registered Professional Engineer, and a Certified Health Safety Professional. Mr. Slack serves on NFPA 70 and NFPA 99 code-making panels and various steering committees. He also has written numerous articles related to health facilities engineering and has authored or contributed to five books related to this field. He also conducts seminars throughout the country related to hospital engineering and JCAHO accreditation.

Currently, Mr. Slack is President of Healthcare Engineering Consultants, serves as Senior Consultant for the Management and Compliance Services of the American Hospital Association, and serves as Senior Consultant to Healthcare Quality Improvement Resources for Management of the Environment of Care Standards, He is active with Healthcare Quality Improvement Resources in terms of conducting assessments and implementation plans for our clients in the Management of the Environment of Care arena.
